Swansea RFC project – Student Volunteer Opportunities
The Department of History and Classics is starting an exciting oral history project with Swansea Rugby Club, one of the greatest rugby clubs in the world which is based just down the road at St Helen’s. Over the next year we will be recording interviews with past and present players, officials, and supporters to capture the club’s rich history and heritage.
I am looking for SIX student volunteers to help out with interviewing and the staging of public events. Training will be provided.
You need to be enthusiastic, committed, reliable, flexible, and accurate in your work because this project will be conducted to the highest professional standards. An interest in rugby football is not essential but would probably be useful. It will also be helpful if you are broad minded and have a sense of humour.
It will be necessary to work on the project on some Saturdays when the All-Whites are playing at home. It must be stressed that this is an opportunity for volunteers, and there will be no remuneration.
This project is suitable for undergraduates at all levels, and postgraduates.
Apply by email, telling me in 300 words why you think you are suitable for this position.
Deadline: 17.00 on 30 September.
