Glynn Vivian Offsite – Summer activities

While the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery is being refurbished, our offsite exhibitions and activities continue at the YMCA, Swansea and at various venues in the city centre.

See our summer programme of artist talks and workshops, and find out about our new Young Art Force for young people aged 14-24, currently not in education, employment or training.

Artist Talks

Our summer season of Artist Talks continues on Thursday 26 June, at 5.30pm at the YMCA with independent commissioner and art consultant Emma Price, who will be discussing her recent projects and identifying the attributes of making a living as an artist and creative practitioner. No booking required.

Glynn Vivian Road Show

What do you collect? Whether its toys, football memorabilia, postcards or trains, come and share your collection with us as we take the Glynn Vivian Road Show to Swansea Community Farm, Fforestfach on Saturday 5 July, 12–4pm. Join us for a fun afternoon of free activities, live music, stalls and more.

Young Art Force: Are you aged 14 – 24 and currently not in employment, education or training? Join our Young Art Force and work on creative projects to gain Arts Award accreditation. Monday and Tuesdays 11am – 3pm, call 01792 516900 or email Tom.Goddard@swansea.gov.uk to find out more.

Family Workshops: Create a computer game based on Richard Glynn Vivian’s travels and collecting in our Saturday Family Workshops, 5 & 12 July, 10am-1pm, or sign up to our summer Holiday Workshops, from 5-7 August. Book your place early, call 01792 516900.

Community Café: Invited speakers will present a series of three talks looking at artists from the Glynn Vivian collection, and the complex relationship with War. From Thursday 10 July, 5.30pm. No booking required, limited seating available.

In Conversation with Rachel Trezise:Join Tom Goddard in conversation with writer Rachel Trezise on Thursday 24 July, from 5.30pm, as they discuss her current collection of short fiction stories. Rachel won the Dylan Thomas Prize in 2006 and her first full length play, Tonypandemonium, was staged by National Theatre Wales in autumn 2013. No booking required.
