Glynn Vivian Offsite Autumn Activities

While the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery is being refurbished, our offsite exhibitions and activities continue at the YMCA, Swansea and at various venues in the city centre.

The Wakelin Award 2014
The Wakelin Award is given annually to a Welsh artist whose work is purchased for our permanent collection. This year’s selector is Amanda Farr, Director of Oriel Davies Gallery, who has chosen the work of Clare Woods.

Join us for the presentation on Friday 12 September 6.30pm at The National Waterfront Museum. Exhibition continues until 4 October. Free entry.

Saturday Family Workshop
Join our Saturday morning art club and create ‘The Adventures of Richard Glynn Vivian‘ computer game based on Richard Glynn Vivian’s travels and collecting.

Workshops take place at the YMCA Saturday 13 & 27 September, 10am – 1pm, for ages 4-13. Book online or call 01792 516900.

Community Cafe
Lecturer and artist, Tiff Oben, presents a series of 3 talks searching for the Masters, overlooked makers and objects and the obscure, in a personal response to the Glynn Vivian Collection. Thursday 18 September, 5.30pm, YMCA. No booking required, limited seating.

Artist Talk: Wakelin Award 2014
Join us for an ‘In Conversation’ between Oriel Davies Director and Wakelin selector, Amanda Farr and Wakelin Award 2014 winner, artist Clare Woods. Thursday 25 September, 5.30pm at the YMCA, Swansea. Free, no booking required.

Adult Workshops
Come along to our Adult Workshops and create a piece of unique artwork. Starting this autumn with ‘Weaving with Willow’, Saturday 20 September 11am – 4pm at the YMCA. All day workshop, please bring a packed lunch. Book online or call 01792 516900.

What do you collect? Whether its toys, football memorabilia, postcards or trains, come and share your collection with us as we take our ‘Glynn Vivian Road Show’ to St. Thomas Primary School, Thursday 30 October, 12 – 4pm. Join us for a fun afternoon of free activities. Everyone welcome, no booking required.
