DIGITISATION ASSISTANCE WORKSHOP

Does your society or community group have an archive or collection it wants to digitise or share online?
This workshop forms part of the ongoing support provided by Swansea University and its partners as part of the Connected Communities Project, including those supported by the Heritage Lottery-funded ‘All our Stories’ programme.
Join us for a one-day training workshop, led by the People’s Collection Wales, introducing the basics of digitisation and how to publish content on People’s Collection Wales.
Topics covered include:
- An introduction to People’s Collection Wales
- Copyright in the digitisation workflow
- Writing descriptive text for online content
- Scanner preparation
- Scanning photographs, documents and slides
- Preparing images for the Web

This month, visit Glynn Vivian Offsite at the YMCA Swansea for a new exhibition of artists’ short films and video. Ffilm 4 includes the pop-up cinema Wednesday 20, Thursday 21 and Friday 22 March from 7.00pm – 8.30pm in the YMCA Theatre, as they present feature films about aliens, love, obsession, trauma, artists, theatre, dance, loss and zombies.
See selected works in the YMCA Café and Reception from Friday 15 March until Sunday 24 March, 9.00am – 5.00pm.
The Glynn Vivian Young People’s group for 14-19 year olds continue to screen their selection of ’12 films to watch before you grow old’. Join them on Wednesday 27 March from 5.30pm at the YMCA as they present cult musical horror movie, ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’. Glynn Vivian Young People meet fortnightly on Wednesdays, 5.30pm at the YMCA Swansea.
